Truck 401 is a 2005 E-One Aerial Platform Truck. Truck 401 seats up to six firefighters and carries advanced firefighting, ventilation, search-and-rescue, salvage and overhaul equipment. Its 95′ tall ladder can be used for rescue and as an aerial master stream device to flow water at fire scenes. The primary role of Truck 401 is to search for victims, effect rescues, conduct ventilation, and assist with salvage and overhaul.

 Truck 401 is one of four trucks in Hanover County and the only in service with a volunteer company. When volunteers are available, Truck 401 is staffed to provide a second on duty ladder truck in Hanover County.
